Education
2014
Master of Social Work
Suzanne Dworak-Peck School
University of Southern California
My studies and practicum provided a deep understanding of both theory and evidence-based methodologies. I focused on the theoretical underpinnings, neurobiological implications, and systemic factors in social development. I explored the various complicating factors related to child welfare involvement, looking at the etiology and impacts of intergenerational patterns of abuse and recidivism in the child welfare system.
2013
Addiction Counseling Certification
University of California Los Angeles
My continued training through the UCLA Extension Program in Substance Use Disorder Counseling has deepened my expertise in SUD and co-occurring disorders, including diagnostic criteria and psychopharmacology. My education and clinical practice integrate a range of modalities, including Gestalt and psychodrama, as well as evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and family systems work.
2011
Bachelor of Sociology
California State University Los Angeles
My undergraduate studies in sociology shaped my perspective as a social scientist, deepening my understanding of human behavior within complex social systems. This foundation informs my ability to help clients navigate the intricacies of their social environments with greater awareness and intention. My coursework included feminism and LGBTQIA+ studies, psychology of violence, criminology, police subculture, and core social science theories. I also earned minors in Gerontology and Law and Society, gaining insight into the cultural, psychological, cognitive, and biological aspects of aging, as well as the intersection of social systems, law, and human behavior.

I began my career in the helping profession at a young age, volunteering in an assisted living setting where I supported individuals with cognitive decline, including dementia and Alzheimer’s. This early experience shaped my commitment to building meaningful connections and understanding the complexity of human behavior across the lifespan.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from California State University, Los Angeles, with a minor in Gerontology, developing a strong foundation as a social scientist with a focus on how social systems influence behavior. I continued my clinical training through the UCLA Extension Program in Addiction Counseling, where I began working in treatment settings providing therapy, supervision, and program support for individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders.

I obtained my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California and began my work with children and families in the child welfare system. This experience provided a deep understanding of trauma, family systems, and the complex barriers faced by underserved populations. I later expanded into roles involving staff training, supervision, and program oversight within nonprofit and community-based settings.

Across both nonprofit and private practice settings, I bring extensive clinical expertise, a strong commitment to training and mentorship, and a passion for helping both clients and clinicians grow and thrive.

Over the past decade, my work has evolved into clinical leadership roles, including Clinical Director and Assistant Program Director positions, where I have led program development, supervised clinicians and interns, and supported multidisciplinary teams in delivering high-quality, trauma-informed care.

Alongside my leadership work, I have built and maintained a private practice, providing therapy to individuals, couples, and families across a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, burnout, and life transitions. My approach integrates evidence-based modalities and emphasizes practical, results-driven care tailored to each client.
